The International Indigenous Voices in Social Work Conference is convinced that Indigenous wisdom and tacit knowledge hold the answers to the challenges we are facing. This conviction has been in place for each conference. The 7th IIVSW Conference invites; students, social workers, researchers, administrators, policymakers as well as scholars and professionals from parallel professions to share their knowledge, research and experiences engaging with advancing the well-being of our children and future generations. The IIVSW is a platform for community-based dialogue about international, national, and regional children’s well-being initiatives.
The 7th IIVSW is aligned with the host; University of Calgary’s; Indigenous Strategy; ii’taa’poh’to’p (Blackfoot for: ‘A place to rejuvenate and re-energize during a journey’) by way of acting as a gathering space that offers opportunities for shared learning, cultural exchange, the sharing of wisdom that strengthens the spirit and fuels the intention of parallel paths and ethical space.
