About the Conference
2025 International Indigenous Voices in Social Work Conference (IIVSWC)
Dates: August 12-15, 2025
Location: University Of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada
The conference aims to provide a platform for Indigenous voices in the field of social work, fostering dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among professionals, scholars, and community leaders from around the world.
Indigenous focused
All abstracts should have a focus toward Indigenous peoples and communities. Social workers who are non-Indigenous are more than welcome to attend, and are encouraged to be involved. Presentations by non-Indigenous social workers are also welcome given that they are supported by an Indigenous community and their presentation is relating to Indigenous topics.
What Are We Looking For?
IIVSW Conference wants to hear about research and practices within your community and beyond for your children, and welcomes submissions that provide engaging opportunities for learning and knowledge exchange. Submissions from any discipline are welcomed (including students in Social Work Programs). People engaged in social work research and practices related to children will be prioritized. Practices related to children will be prioritized along with abstracts aligned with the following topics (we are open to related topics):
